A BRIEF HISTORY.
The school was established in
September 2006.The proprietor of the school is Mr Oladipo Simeon Akani, who had
decades of teaching experience both at primary, secondary and tertiary level
and has remained committed to giving qualitative service to humanity through
the school.
We have an open door policy which
made the school to organize Parent Teachers Forum from time to time.
The present executive of the school
P.T.A have remained focus to help the management of the school to attain the
lofty height desired for the pupils.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE.
The aim of G.S.R School is to provide
qualitative education for all our pupils at affordable cost. We are guided by
Federal Government Policy on education and Lagos State Policy on education. Our
scope include but not limited to:
INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
This is all embracing which involve
the following:
1.Communication skills:The ability of
our pupils to speak,listen,reading and writing effectively to different
audience.
2.Application of numbers:We develop
mathematical skills of our pupils by taking them from known to unknown. Make
mathematics simple through the use of visual aids.
3.Thinking skill:We give stimulating
questions that will make them think reasonably.
4.Information processing skill:We
place our pupils on computer theoretically and practically having it at the
back of our mind that this is computer age.
5.Reasoning Skill:These enable pupils
to give reasons for their opinions and actions, to draw inferences and make
deductions, make reasonable judgements about life.
6.Enquiry Skills:These enable pupils
to ask relevant questions and define problems, plan what to do and how to do
it.
7.Creative Skills:We motivate our
pupils by giving them opportunity to use their hands creatively.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
This involves pupils acquiring an
understanding of the responsibilities and rights of being members of a
family,school community and a member of the larger society. We inculcate the
value of team spirit, ability to work with others to achieve common goals and
develop mutual understanding between one another. Our pupils must display sense
of belonging and increase willingness to participate in school activities.
CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT:
We develop the instinct that is in
our pupils to have respect for their culture. Teaching them to appreciate and
have respect for others culture. We develop their
knowledge,skills,understanding,qualities and attitude they need to understand,
appreciate and contribute to our culture. We celebrate our cultural day every
year in the month of March.
MORAL DEVELOPMENT:
It involves acquiring an
understanding of the differences between rights and wrongs and of moral
conflicts, a concern for others and the will to do what is right. They are able
to and willing to reflect on the consequences of their actions and learn to
forgive themselves and others.
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT:
This involves the growth of their
sense of self, their unique potential, their understanding of their strength
and weakness and their will to achieve through the help of GOD. They try to
answer some of life’s fundamental questions and their relationship with God.
They develop the knowledge,skills understanding,qualities, and attitude they
need to foster their own lives and non material well being.
To achieve these goals we apply the
Montessori Education in our teaching.

MANAGEMENT PROFILE.
MR OLADIPO S.A.-THE
PROPRIETOR.
The management staff is made up of
seasoned educationist.
The proprietor(Mr Oladipo S.A.) is an
educationist who has taught in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary School. He was
an Assistant Chief Education Officer(ACEO) before retirement. He is a seasoned
chartered accountant with tract record of achievements. He has proven tract of
success in accountancy profession.
MRS OLADIPO D.O.-THE PROPRIETRESS
The Proprietress (Mrs Oladipo D.O) of
the school is also a seasoned educationist still active in service. She has
risen to the post of Deputy Director of Education(DDE). She is an asset to the
school.
THE HEAD TEACHER.
Mrs.Jennifer Hutchful is a Ghanian
who holds degree certificate in English Language and attended school of
languages within West Africa. She has a vast knowledge in English language. She
had also been a teacher in Europe and Asia(Hong Kong). She is currently the
Diction Teacher and Head Teacher of GREAT SOLID ROCK SCHOOLS.
RULES AND REGULATIONS.
The school management does not trifle
with discipline. In pursuit of a high moral standard,the school seriously
discountenances any form of indiscipline. Subject to above, the following rules
and regulations are to be adhered to by every pupil:
1.Pupils/Students must be in the
school compound latest by 7:30am.
2.The school call bells must be
obeyed promptly at all times.
3.No student/pupil must be found
outside the classroom without a pass, except during break time.
4.No noise making. Pupils are to
maintain perfect silence in the school. Discussions are only allowed during the
long break.
5.No student/pupil has the right to
challenge the authority of class captains and prefects.
6.Pupils/Students are not to take
laws into their hands. When a fellow pupil offends you, report to a teacher.
7.Fighting/physical combat and use of
abusive language is not allowed both within and outside the school premises.
8.Pupils must be neatly and properly
dressed at all times, in the appropriate school uniforms. The footwear is
always brown shoes/ or black shoe with white socks.
9.Mini/short dresses are not allowed.
10.No styling or permed hair for both
boys and girls. Hair styles are given for each week for girls while boys
maintain low cut.
11.Wearing of long nails is not
allowed.
12.No pupil/Student is to apply any
form of make-up to the school, i.e painting of nails, lips,eyelids etc.
13.Pupils/Students must partake
whole-hearted in all school activities.
14. No pupil shall leave the compound
without a pass with his or her name duly written on it during the school hours.
15.Pupils/students are not to
challenge or confront the security men. You must show them respect and comply
with their instructions.
16.Pupils/students are to show their
clearance cards at the gate when coming and their passes when going out before
the closing time.
17.No pupil/student should receive
any visitor without permission during
school hours.
18.Chewing of gum is not allowed in
the school.
19.No pupils/students must be with a
handset.Any urgent messages must pass through the school to the child.
20.Every pupil must belong to at
least one academic club and one uniform society.
21.Stealing is forbidden.
22.Sexual immorality is a serious offence.
There shall be no writing of love letters and making of advances by the
opposite sex. Boys and girls relationship is not allowed.
23.No waiting or stopping at the
staircase.
24.Wild partying, taking of alcoholic
drinks and smoking both within and outside the school compound are very serious
offences.
25.Assembly notes, S.O.P’s and Bibles
are made compulsory for all students during the assembly. Any defaulter will be
disciplined.
26.A performance register is
available for every pupil where both positive and negative behaviours are
recorded. The register shall be consulted when preparing a testimonial for our
pupils. Pupils are therefore expected to be of good conduct in order not to blight
their own future.
27.School furniture, equipment and
fittings must be handled with care. Any student who destroys school property
will pay for it.
28.No form of examination
malpractice/cheating is to be practiced.
29.Pupils/students are not to aid and
abet crime by keeping silence when they see others disobeying school rules and
regulations. Always report any evil act you see or hear about.
30.Dodging of classes and failure to
write notes up to date are not allowed.
31.No littering of the compound.
32.Pupils/students are not to use
paper in the toilet. Use water and toilet issue.
33.Pupils/students should bring their
water bottle from home. You are not to drink water from your palm at the tap.
34.No pupil must beg for food or
biscuits.
35.Pupils are not allowed to eat with
bare hand but with cutleries.
36.Borrowing/lending of books, money
etc is not allowed.
37.No keeping of money in the
classrooms.
38.The classrooms must be neat/tidy
throughout the day.
39. Boys are not to put books in
their back pockets.
40.The senior pupils are not suppose
to discipline the junior ones and the junior pupils must not be rude to their
seniors. Senior pupils are not to send the junior ones on errands.
41.Pupils/students are not allowed to
speak vernacular except during the period for Nigerian languages.
42.Obey before complaining. You must
obey your teachers and never be rude to them.
NOTE: The following offences attract
expulsion as their disciplinary measure:
1.Sexual immorality. 2.Examination
malpractice. 3.Possession/drinking of alcohol. 4.Possession of harmful tools.
